Hello All,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Jake Thompson, and I am
currently an undergraduate student in Environmental Sciences at the
University of California, Santa Cruz. I am working on setting up an LDM
instance for a small coastal weather monitoring project.
I have successfully installed LDM and configured a fully qualified domain
name for the host on my Ubuntu instance. However, I am encountering some
challenges with my network setup. Since I am running this instance from an
off-campus network rather than from within the university’s campus network,
I am reaching out to kindly ask for assistance in obtaining ALLOW access to
a compatible upstream LDM server for my connection, as recommended in
guidance I received from Unidata.
Our project’s LDM instance is intended to request only a minimal amount of
data, focusing specifically on surface observations such as pressure,
temperature and other simple information available in METAR/SPECI-formatted
reports. The data will be used to support a class research project
comparing inland and coastal surface weather patterns during seasonal
transitions.
Please let me know if any additional details are needed to help facilitate
this request. I greatly appreciate your time and assistance.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Jake Thompson
