COUNTY WARNING AREA EXPANDS, EFFECTIVE THURSDAY,
DECEMBER 1, 1994
Effective Thursday, December 1, 1994, at 10 a.m. Central Standard
Time (9:00 a.m. Mountain time), the National Weather Service
(NWS) will transfer short-fuse warning responsibility for one
county (Table 1) in southeast New Mexico TO the Midland (MAF),
Texas, Weather Service Office (WSO) FROM the WSO in Roswell
(ROW), New Mexico. For this county, WSO MAF will issue short-
fuse warning products (Table 2) and related products that give
follow-up information on the warnings (Table 3). For holders of
Weather Service Operations Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning
Areas, this the 40th update for 1994.
Because of this county warning transfer, subscribers to the NOAA
Weather Wire Service (NWWS) and the Family of Services (FOS) must
take appropriate action to receive the short-fuse warnings and
related products for the county using the MAF identifier (Tables
2 and 3) instead of the ROW identifier. The Universal Generic
Codes (UGC), however, will remain unchanged as shown in Table 1.

FORECAST OFFICE'S SHORT-FUSE COUNTY WARNING AREA
EXPANDS...EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 1994
Effective Thursday December 1, 1994 at 8:00 a.m. Central Standard
Time, the National Weather Service (NWS) will transfer short-fuse
warning responsibility for 9 counties in Wisconsin (Table 1) TO
the Milwaukee (MKE), Wisconsin Weather Service Forecast Office
(WSFO), located at Sullivan. Eight (8) counties will be
transferred FROM the Weather Service Office (WSO) in Madison
(MSN), Wisconsin and one (1) county FROM the WSO in Dubuque
(DBQ), Iowa.
For these 9 counties, WSFO MKE will issue short-fuse warning
products (Table 2) and related products that give follow-up
information on the warnings (Table 3). For holders of NWS
Operations Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning Areas,
this transfer is the 41st update for 1994.Because of this county warning
transfer, subscribers to the NOAA
Weather Wire Service (NWWS) and the Family of Services (FOS) must
take appropriate action to receive the short-fuse warnings and
related products for these counties using the MKE identifier
(Tables 2 and 3) instead of the MSN or DBQ identifier. The
Universal Generic Codes (UGC) will remain unchanged (as shown
in Table 1).
