Message Issued: October 23, 2003, 1430 UTC
Satellites Impacted: Meteosat-7 and Meteosat-5
Products Impacted: Imagery and Services from Meteosat-7 and Meteosat-5
Date/Time of Initial Impact: October 25, 2003 1200 UTC
-----------------------------------------
Details:
Scheduled interruptions for Week 43 and 44
Meteosat 0° Service (Met-7)
Week 43 - Due to a MET-7 moon eclipse on 25 Oct 2003 (day 03.298) slot
24 will not be available.
Week 44 - Due to a Met-7 E-W maneuver at 04:28 on 28 Oct 2003 (day
03.301), Users may experience degraded image quality for up to 6 hours
after the maneuver.
Meteosat 63° Service (Met-5)
None.
Meteosat Second Generation (Commissioning Operations)
The EUMETCast dissemination trial is ongoing.
On 28 October 2003 (day 03.301) at 13:00 UTC it is planned to start the
dissemination of the IMPF level 1.5 images instead of the IQGSE level
1.5 ones. A short interruption to the SEVIRI dissemination during
working hours is to be expected. Some differences are to be expected in
the headers, image quality and compression efficiency. More details
about the differences in the headers can be found at:
http://www.eumetsat.de/en/dps/news/pdf/delta_IQGSE-IMPF_images.pdf
Interruptions to dissemination or image quality degradation will
continue to occur as commissioning progresses. The HRV window position
will be affected by the on going commissioning tests. SEVIRI gain
setting adjustment may be required from time to time.
Dissemination Schedules:
Meteosat 0 deg Service: current schedule S0011M01.
Meteosat 63 deg Service: current schedule S9904I01.
