Details:
A GOES-12 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Friday morning
(Thursday evening for CONUS) on December 30, 2005 at 0100 UTC. For National Weather
Service operations: There is no back-up date scheduled for this maneuver. This is an
emergency maneuver in response to the recent North-South maneuver performed on
12/20/05.
On Thursday December 29, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to
support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan
period to support the primary GOES-12 outage during the maneuver.*)
GOES-12 Maneuver Schedule starts at 1903 UTC on Thursday December 29, 2005.
(Southern Hemisphere Scan at 1909 UTC is canceled)
From 29/1915 UTC through 30/0025 UTC -- GOES-12 Routine Imaging and Soundings.
*From 30/0030 UTC through 30/0214 UTC -- No GOES-12 Imaging or Soundings*
**From 30/0030 UTC through 30/0229 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging**
From 30/0215 UTC through 30/0914 UTC -- GOES-12 Post Maneuver Recovery
Including:
* Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX15 and XX45
* CONUS Soundings at XX46
0915 UTC Friday December 30 -- GOES-12 Routine Scan Operations Resume
Expect GOES-12 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours following the
maneuver.
