Details/Specifics of Change:
The Office of Satellite Data Processing and Distribution (OSDPD) has been undergoing
a major migration from an IBM mainframe to AIX system. The Ozone software has been
ported to the AIX parallel test system, and test files are being distributed
regularly via the Data Distribution Server (DDS). We plan to declare the AIX as the
operational system on Monday, Jul 10. All users should now have access to AIX data
and have started testing.
At some date before Jul 10, the Ozone system on the AIX will be effectively
operational, with full operator monitoring and 24x7 support. At that time, I will
issue another message, which will allow users to switch to the AIX system at their
convenience. The Jul 10 deadline is the date where the mainframe software will no
longer be supported.
