NCEP Model Evaluation Subscribers,
The Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) has proposed an upgrade to
the Short Range Ensemble Forecast (SREF).
The changes include:
1. Upgrade WRF-NMM and WRF-ARW codes to version 2.2
2. Increase WRF-NMM resolution from 40 km to 32 km
3. Increase WRF-ARW resolution from 45 km to 32 km
4. Upgrade RSM model and increase resolution from 45km to 32km

In addition, we are sending GEMPAK data to the WOC at:
FTP:

<ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/nawips/para/sref.YYYYMMDD>

We will make the model output available for 30 days starting Tuesday,
14 October so that end-users of the SREF data can verify that no unforeseen
changes have been introduced.
Any comments on this proposed change will be appreciated. Any feedback
you wish to provide during the evaluation period should be emailed to
NCEP.List.ModelEvalFeedback@xxxxxxxx
<mailto:NCEP.List.ModelEvalFeedback@xxxxxxxx>, prior to 13 November 2008.
Thanks
Dan Starosta
