DRAFT EMAIL TO LEVEL II List:
Reference TIN 09-51 regarding NL2 data from the Hawaiian sites.
The Radar Operations Center team in Hawaii reports the NEXRAD frame
relay upgrades and software configuration changes for enabling Level
II from each of four radars in Hawaii was completed Monday afternoon.
Each Level II feed was verified getting to the Honolulu WFO. The
associated NOAAnet service upgrade is in progress. The Hawaii radars
are not turned on yet (weather in the area). Hopefully they will be
turned on today, but we can't modify the system until the weather
cooperates. The data from all 4 radars will start at the same time.
The data will flow directly to the NWSTG and then be disseminated to
users via the U. of Maryland MAX gigapop as per the new Level II
architecture. Contact your Top Tier provider on how to download the
data from them.
The status of these sites will initially be listed under the NWS
Western Region on the NWS Level II status page:
Please let me know if you have any questions. I will provide further
status updates, as soon as possible.
