Hello All,
This past Friday, EMC and NCO were notified of a bug in the Global
Multi-grid Wave model currently undergoing evaluation by OPC, TPC, the
Eureka WFO, and others. The grib2 output for wave direction of
partitioned wave fields was going out in oceanographic convention (-180
to +180) as opposed to meteorological convention (0 to 360). This bug
has been fixed effective with today's 18Z run. Due to the discovery of
this bug so late in the evaluation period, NCO has decided to extend the
30-day parallel evaluation by 2 more weeks. This pushes the end date of
the evaluation back to April 22.
For those of you participating in the evaluation, please have your
feedback and slides back to me by April 28. I will aim for a new
implementation date of May 11.
Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Chris
