Subject: Upgrade of the NCEP Air Quality Forecast System
Effective December 21, 2010
Effective Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 1200 coordinated
Universal Time (UTC), the National Centers for Environmental
Prediction (NCEP) will upgrade the Ozone Model run in its
operational production suite. This upgrade will provide the
following changes to this system:
- Expand the operational ozone prediction products to add
maximum 1 hour average and maximum 8 hour average ozone
for the first day of prediction for CONUS
Once operational, the output from this enhanced processing
will be available from the NWS National Digital Guidance
Database (NDGD) server at:
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/DF.gr2/DC.ndgd/GT.a
q/AR.conus/
Maximum 1 hour average and maximum 8 hour average ozone
for the first day of prediction for CONUS are currently
generated twice per day at NCEP. These data can be obtained
from the experimental NDGD server at:
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.expr/DF.gr2/DC.ndgd/GT.a
q/AR.conus/
