Subject: NCEP Model Analysis and Guidance Web Page to
Become Operational Effective March 15, 2011
On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, the National Centers for
Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Model Analysis and Guidance
(MAG) website will move from experimental to operational. The
decision to declare the MAG website operational is based upon
comments received. The older Model Analysis and Forecast (MAF)
webpages will be removed by the end of March. NCEP will issue a
Technical Information Notice announcing this removal
The NWS previously issued a Public Information Statement (PNS)
announcing the NCEP experimental Model Analysis and Guidance
(MAG) website available at
http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov
and proposing to replace the MAF website with this newer
service. The MAG website showcases the NWS suite of graphical
numerical model analyses and guidance and observational
database. A document is provided on the MAG website to describe
the service and guide users in transitioning to the new MAG.
For more information and updates, refer to the MAGs Latest
Information and News webpage:
