SUBJECT: Transfer of Hydrologic Services in northern Arizona
Effective May 10, 2011
Effective Tuesday May 10, 2011, at 900 am Mountain Daylight Time
(MDT), 1500 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), hydrologic service
responsibility for river forecast locations in Mohave County,
AZ, from the Utah/Arizona border south to the Colorado River,
will be transferred from the Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in
Salt Lake City, UT, (WFO SLC) to the WFO in Las Vegas, NV (WFO
VEF). This transfer will include the river forecast point at
Littlefield, AZ, on the Virgin River.
Additionally, hydrologic service responsibility for Coconino
County, AZ, from the Utah/Arizona border south to the Colorado
River will be transferred from WFO Salt Lake City to WFO
Flagstaff, AZ (WFO FGZ). These changes will align Hydrologic
Service Areas and County Warning Areas to enable more efficient
service. See Table 1 for details on the river forecast points to
be transferred to WFO Las Vegas from WFO Salt Lake City on May
10, 2011.
Because of this transfer, customers must take appropriate action
to receive the products listed in Table 2 for Virgin River
forecast points in Mohave County in Arizona using the VEF
identifier.
