Subject: Soliciting comments for experimental Tropical
Cyclone Hazards Graphics through November 30, 2011
Effective June 15 and continuing through November 30, 2011, NWS
is seeking user feedback on Experimental Tropical Cyclone
Hazards Graphics associated with landfalling tropical storms and
hurricanes.
The suite of graphics addresses four hazards: wind, tornadoes,
coastal flooding and inland flooding.
These experimental products will be generated by participating
coastal Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs) when the National
Hurricane Center (NHC) issues a tropical cyclone watch or
warning for a WFOs area of forecast and warning responsibility.
These four graphics, along with a description and static
examples, will be posted online at:
http://www.weather.gov/ghls
NetCDF and KML files for the four hazard graphics will also be
available for download at the above web site.
