SUBJECT: Changes to the format of the Marine Forecast
Matrices Issued by Weather Forecast Office
Honolulu: Effective March 1, 2012
Effective Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 400 AM Hawaiian Standard
Time (HST), 1400 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the National
Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Honolulu,
Hawaii will change the format of the text product, Marine
Forecast Matrices (MFM). The change will; 1) remove references
to Swell1, Swell2, Swell3 etc., Period1, Period2, Period3 etc.,
and have all swells and periods designated simply as "Swell" and
Period, and 2) add line breaks between each swell and period.
This change is being made to improve the clarity, readability
and utility of the text product.

Table 1 lists the product issued by WFO Honolulu that will
be affected by the change to the MFM format.
