Subject: Extending Comment Period on Experimental Forecast
Of Reference Evapotranspiration for Short
Canopy Vegetation through May 31, 2013.
NWS Forecast Offices in the western and central U.S. have been
issuing experimental 7-day evapotranspiration forecasts on a
seasonal basis. These forecasts will remain experimental through
May 31, 2013. These forecasts graphically depict the expected
evapotranspiration and departure from normal for each of the next
7 days. A 7-day total and departure is also provided. At the end
of the comment period, this product will be evaluated for
national implementation.
The following Western Region offices are producing these
forecasts:
Washington: Spokane
Oregon: Portland, Pendleton, and Medford
Idaho: Pocatello and Boise
Montana: Great Falls, Missoula, Glasgow, and Billings
California: Eureka, Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area,
San Joaquin Valley, Los Angeles, and San Diego
Nevada: Reno, Elko, and Las Vegas
Utah: Salt Lake City
Arizona: Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Tucson
The following NWS Central Region offices are producing these
forecasts:
North Dakota: Grand Forks
South Dakota: Rapid City, Aberdeen, and Sioux Falls
