Subject: Operational Ultraviolet Radiation Grids in the
National Digital Guidance Database (NDGD), Effective
Tuesday, July 10, 2012, for CONUS Only
Effective Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 1400 Coordinated Universal
Time (UTC), NWS is making the following three ultraviolet
radiation grids operational in the National Digital Guidance
Database (NDGD) for the Conterminous United States (CONUS) only:
-Ultraviolet Index, for each daylight hour out to 48 hours
-Daily Maximum Ultraviolet Index, once per day out to 120 hours
-Downward Short Wave Radiation Flux, for every third daylight
hour out to 120 hours
These grids have been produced experimentally since March 2011.
See the link below for further information.
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/notification/pns11ndgd_uv_grids.txt
These grids are derived automatically from the 1200 UTC model run
of the Global Forecast System (GFS) for CONUS.
