The NOAA National Weather Service MicroART upper air system in Cold Bay,
Alaska, will be decommissioned on or shortly after September 13, 2013,
and installation of the new Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS) will
begin. No upper air observations will be provided from this office
while RRS is being installed.
Beginning on September 22, 2013, or shortly thereafter, upper air
observations will be issued using the RRS and GPS LMS-6 radiosondes.
