Subject: Experimental Web Based Graphicast Product To Transition
From Experimental Status to Operational Status
Effective December 10, 2013
Effective Tuesday December 10, 2013, the National Hurricane
Centers Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch (TAFB) will
transition its Web Based Graphicast of event-driven significant
marine weather for its offshore and high seas areas of
responsibility from experimental to operational status. These
forecast parameters may include:
Surface (10-m) winds
Significant wave heights
Primary swell height, period and direction
Mean Sea Level Pressure (MSLP) of synoptic scale features
Warning Hazard Areas (Gale, Storm, Hurricane Force)
Fog
Volcanic ash
Significant precipitation
This product will continue to be generated by TAFB daily at
approximately 0000 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) and posted to
the National Hurricane Center website:
