SUBJECT: Transfer of Hydrologic Services for the Western
Atchafalaya River Basin to Weather Forecast Office
Lake Charles, LA, Effective February 5, 2014
Effective Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 12:00 PM Central
Standard Time (CST), 1800 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC),
hydrologic service responsibility for river forecast locations
in St. Mary, St. Martin, Iberia, St. Landry, and Avoyelles
Parishes will be transferred to the Weather Forecast Office in
Lake Charles, LA (WFO LCH) from the WFO in Slidell, LA (WFO
LIX). This transfer will include the river forecast point
locations given in Table 1 below. These changes will align
Hydrologic Service Areas and Parish Warning Areas to enable more
efficient service.
Because of this transfer, partners and other users must take
appropriate action to receive the products listed in Table 2 for
the Atchafalaya River forecast points in St. Mary, St. Martin,
Iberia, St. Landry, and Avoyelles Parishes using the WFO LCH
identifier.
