Hi,

We are running a [ http://tds.webservice-energy.org/thredds/in-situ.html | TDS
here ] with lot of NetCDF files and rich metadata.

We don't want to duplicate the info in the catalog and would like TDS to pull
some metadata from NetCDF files and show it directly in the catalog,
especially the time range, spatial bounding box and list of variables.

This way, the catalog would always be up to date with he metadata.

Is it possible to do so ?

If not, I am willing to add this feature.
Can it be done with an extension or would this require to update core features
?

Is Thredds still under active developement ?
I [ https://github.com/Unidata/thredds | found this github ] but it seems
archived / read only.

Thanks in advance,
Raphaël Jolivet
