Thank you for reaching out! Our collection of METAR data on thredds.ucar.edu
has been under "attack" over the last few days by what we think is AI
driven traffic. While the server has been able to withstand the
ridiculous number of requests we've been receiving, the amount of log files
generated has been filling our disk space at a rapid pace and we've had to
resort to temporairly turning off that collection. We hope to have it back
online soon. Unfortunately, given the nature of this traffic, simple
measures like IP blocks or rate limiting are impractical and/or
ineffective. We're considering our options on how best to preserve access
for the University community.
