If your histogram has a MathType like (band -> count)
then you can display it using ScalarMaps:

  band -> XAxis
  count -> YAxis

See P1_01.java in Section 1.3 of Ugo's VisAD tutorial
for a similar example. Also check out the nice histogram
displays in Tom's VisAD Python tutorial.
