new releases of VisAD with the same version number

I see that when VisAD has a new release (such as the recent
one) the version number "2.0" doesn't change. How are the
users supposed to identify which version of VisAD is being
used on the local system except relaying on circumstantial
information such as specific file dates and sizes ?
